The second beta of macOS Catalina, released yesterday, includes a function that will manage your laptop’s battery. What is it actually about?
The new battery management feature has been designed to extend the battery life of Mac laptops released after 2016. A similar function is found in iOS 13.
The optimized charging operation is based on the fact that the MacBook analyzes the charging data and thus can limit the charging to over 80% until we need our laptop. The function can of course be turned off.
You can find all the battery controls in the Power Saver section of System Preferences. The final version of macOS Catalina 10.15.5 is to be released at the end of June 2020.
