Snapchat, as most of you might remember, was quite popular few years back. This application was the first one to have started the idea of Stories. Yes, we saw the stores first as a part of Snapchat Stories. However, Facebook decided to implement the Stories feature in Instagram, and later on WhatsApp. This clearly damaged Snapchat’s traffic and audience because of Instagram’s popularity. Since then, Snapchat has been going down hill in terms of audience and finding new ways to gain back its popularity.
It looks like the company has found a new way to get back the revenue that it has lost from its growth stoppage. Snapchat has announced its new Snapchat Ad Kit and the Snapchat Audience Network. These are the ad networks from Snapchat which means you will now see Snapchat ads on other apps. Also, Snapchat will now let its Stories feature to be included inside apps like Tinder and Houseparty as well. These stories can be shared by users to from the Snapchat camera with Stories Kit.
For those developers who are interested in monetization and engagement for Stories kit, the registrations have started. We already know that Snapchat’s Snap Kit allows “users log in to other apps with Snapchat, bring their Bitmoji, view Our Stories content and share stickers back to Snapchat”. Until now, developers were not able to make money out of this because of no ad network being available. However, Snapchat’s Ad Kit has been launched so that developers can earn money off this feature too.
Of course, the ad revenue will be split by Snapchat with the developers. However, the company has refused to inform about the divide or revenue cut it will take for its Ad Kit program. Snapchat’s CEO also revealed that Snapchat reaches 90 percent of users between 13 to 24 years of age in the U.S. which is more than Facebook and Instagram for this age group.
