Samsung has just unveiled their latest processor in the Exynos 7 series. This processor from Samsung Exynos is the Exynos 7904. It is worth noting that the Exynos 7904 SoC is designed with upper mid-range smartphones in mind. The upper mid-range smartphones are more powerful than the mid-range ones but are less powerful than the flagship smartphones.

Also, these smartphones are priced in between the mid-range and the premium devices. Now, we already know that Samsung is planning to launch an all-new Galaxy M series in India. This series will have devices ranging in the budget, mid-range and upper mid-range devices.

It is also rumored that the Galaxy M series might replace the Galaxy J series from Samsung. Now, that is something we will know in the future. However, we do know that at least one of the Galaxy M series will be powered by the Exynos 7904. Talking about Exynos SoCs, you will get an Exynos-powered Samsung phone only in India. This is because Samsung is blocked by Qualcomm from selling Exynos-powered devices in the US.

Exynos 7904 SoC

Therefore, Samsung develops two variants of their flagship devices. The global variant of Samsung flagships is powered by Snapdragon chips whereas the Indian variant is powered by Exynos chips. As far as Exynos 7904 is concerned, it is a part of the Exynos 7 series from Samsung. This chipset is powered with eight cores in total. Now, it has two Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and six cores clocked at 1.6GHz of Cortex-A53.

Apart from that, Exynos 7904 is based on a 14nm FinFet technology. This processor is capable enough to support triple cameras as well as a single camera of up to 32MP. Exynos 7904 also supports a display resolution of up to Full HD+. Apart from that, this chipset supports 1080p video recording at 120 frames per second and 4K video recording at 30frames per second.
