LG has just rolled up (literally) an innovative product on the CES show-floor. This latest product is an OLED TV from the Korean manufacturer, LG. However, this is not just any OLED TV. Rather, this OLED TV is a rollable one from LG. This TV can be rolled out from a stand and also rolled back inside the stand which looks same as a soundbar. This means that it is pleasing to the eye as well.
This Rollable OLED TV from LG is part of the ultra-high definition LG Signature series. Now, you might recall that Samsung also announced a Rollable version of their Galaxy TV at the CES last year. However, we have not heard anything about that TV from Samsung since then. In LG’s case, things seem to look different as the company has high hopes from this TV of theirs.
“What science fiction directors imagined decades ago is now a reality,” said LG senior vice president of marketing David VanderWaal on the launch of their Rollable OLED TV. We can say that the TV really looks like a product out of the future because it is hard to believe that a TV can be rolled up and down and then the content can be played on it as well. Adding to his previous quote, David said that “It brings freedom of design to space, without the limitations of a wall.”
As far as the Rollable OLED TV is concerned, it’s 65-inch display can be completely hidden when rolled back down after use. Another major announcement that LG made was the integration of various Smart Assistants on its TVs.
The company announced that their new OLED televisions, including the roll-up model, will be powered with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa virtual assistant software as well at Apple AirPlay software. This means that all the latest LG OLED TVs will support AirPlay 2 as well along with various other services from Amazon and Google.
